Client: Large Local Authority
Services: Architecture, Project Management, CDM-C

Our client for this project is Poppies Day Nurseries, who also have centres in Bourne End, Beaconsfield and Marlow.

The project is for the demolition of an old church building, which has fallen into disrepair, and the erection of a modern nursery building for up to 60 children between the ages of 0-5 years. The timber structure of the existing building is rotten and the environmental costs of its repair would be greater than those of its demolition. The two storey nursery will be constructed with load bearing masonry and a timber framed roof. It will provide four classrooms specially designed to suit the various stages of a child’s development; Baby Nest for 0-16 months; Little Explorers for 16-24 months; Big Explorers for 2-3 years and a Nursery/Pre School for 3-5 years. Among the classrooms will be staff areas including offices, reception and a break room as well as various amenities such as a kitchen and a laundry room.

The project is due to open early 2014 and will commence on site shortly.

The construction value is approximately £500,000.
