Client: NHS
Services: Architecture, Feasibility Study
On a tight urban site, Richmond and Twickenham PCT were faced with the need to replace or upgrade and extend their existing clinic to incorporate additional facilities following a strategic review of the premises, whilst avoiding the need for a temporary relocation or closure of the existing clinic.

aed have undertaken a review of a number of options against a weighted benefit and risk matrix. The preferred solution is to firstly utilise modular construction techniques to provide new build extensions with minimal disruption to the site to relocate the existing facilities into the new build. The second phase of work involves a major refurbishment of the existing clinic building to house the new services. The whole development is overclad in a blend of thermowood and through-colour render to create an integrated and attractive form at relatively low cost.
